Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ is a Turkish model, actor and former basketball player, who was born in Adana (Southern Turkey) under the sign of Scorpio on 27th October 1983, to Erdem and Nurten Tatlıtuğ. He has four siblings. According to his statement, his family had a bakery business in Adana for more than 100 years.
Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ has Albanian and Yugoslavian roots from his father’s side, and his mother is a pure Turk from Edirne. He studied at the Yenice CAG High School, where he shined on the basketball team. Due to his father’s heart attack, their family moved to Istanbul in 1997, so he can receive the proper treatment.

Before his debut in acting and modeling, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ played professional basketball in well-known clubs such as Besiktas (for one year), Fenerbahce (for one year), and Ulkerspor (for two years). He had an injury, dislocating his leg, and for this reason, he had to quit basketball.
Modeling career
After his mother sent his photos to modeling agencies, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ was recruited and started his modeling career.
