The Turkish dizi drama series “Bahar: Uyanmaya Hazır Mısın? (2024)” follows the rebirth of Bahar, a woman who, despite graduating from medical school twenty years ago, chose the path of a housewife over that of a doctor.
Married to the successful surgeon Timur Yavuzoğlu (Mehmet Yılmaz Ak), Bahar dedicates herself to her husband and children, embodying the role of a devoted housewife. However, when confronted with a sudden illness, her world is turned upside down, challenging the facade of perfection within her family.
As her health deteriorates, her doctor, Evren (Buğra Gülsoy), becomes determined to save Bahar, emphasizing the necessity of a liver transplant, for which Timur is the only compatible donor. Yet, his refusal to save his wife’s life set in motion a series of events that redefine the dynamics within the Yavuzoğlu family. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of Bahar’s journey toward self-discovery and resilience, characterized by moments of both tragedy and comedy.

Following Evren’s relentless efforts to secure a donor and the successful transplant: “I will live as I deserve. I’m done with Timur. I’ll take care of Bahar a little,” Bahar decided to return to medicine, but her husband Timur, from whom she asked for support for the course expenses, turned her away.
Bahar, who enrolled in the course by selling her mother-in-law’s expensive bag, studied secretly from the family, and passed the exam with a high score, applied to her husband Timur’s hospital for an assistantship. Traces of the past also emerged in the Bahar-Timur-Rengin triangle.
Evren was her biggest supporter in his decision to return to medicine. In the interview, Jung said: “Only a wounded physician can heal. The more wounded a person is, the more healing he is!”
Bahar, who impressed the jury with her words, was accepted for the assistantship with Rengin’s “yes” vote.
