The case dates back to June 2020 when KanalD filed a lawsuit against Gold Film after the latter requested some corrections to be made in the contract for the production of “Bay Yanlış / Mr. Wrong,” one of the famous Turkish romantic comedy series of 2020.
KanalD claimed that this caused them financial damage, as they had already made advertising agreements for the 2020 summer season based on the rom-com serie known as Mr. Wrong / Bay Yanlış.

However, Gold Film’s defense argued that there was no official contract between the two parties, and therefore, Kanal D’s claim for compensation was unjustified. After much deliberation, the Istanbul 7th Commercial Court of First Instance ruled in favor of Gold Film, stating there was no evidence of passive hostility from the production company.
