The dizi series Camdaki Kiz follows the story of Nalan Yilmaz (Burcu Biricik), a girl raised in luxury and later married into a wealthy family who ends up in a psychiatric clinic by force. The reason for her condition is her lover, Hayri, with whom she had a love affair for 7 years. When Hayri tells Naran about the existence of another woman in his life, Nalan’s world is destroyed. She starts having crises threatening to commit suicide. Nalan Yilmaz (Burcu Biricik) is a beautiful, intelligent, and innocent girl who is quite different than other women of her age, hiding a secret. Nalan is the only child of her family and works as an architect for Turkey’s largest chain of hotels. Her mother, Feride is a conservative and obsessive woman who controls Nalan’s every move, what she wears, what she does, and who she sees. Soon we find out the reason behind Feride’s bitter attitude. Nalan is actually her granddaughter – her mother Sema died giving birth to Nalan, and Ferida has never forgiven the baby for “killing” her own daughter. Because of this, she raised her granddaughter with strict and absurd rules so that history does not repeat itself. Mr. Feride always dresses Nalan in a corset, which she sees as a symbol of honor, and obsessively controls her weight every day. On the other side, Sedat (Feyyaz Şerifoğlu), the youngest spoiled heir of the Koroğlu’s group. Sedat is in a 7 years relationship with Cana Yalçın, an older woman, married with children. He lives in the family mansion where his father, Rafet, has an eye over everyone’s behavior to see if they make a wrong step and disobey his rules. His father decides to marry Sedat to a young woman from a good family to prevent him from further damaging the image of the company for which he worked years to build. Sedat’s sister Selen steps in and tells her parents that she met a nice girl, Nalan, who might be the perfect bride for his brother. His father, who likes Nalan very much and sees her as a great candidate for the Koroğlu family, calls Nalan’s father, Adil Bey, to talk.
