Can Yaman Strikes Back at Critics – A Success Worthy of Headlines, Not Tabloids
In a bold move, Can Yaman, the dashing actor who has been conquering one success after another in Italy, responded once again to the criticisms directed at him from Turkey.
Last week, Can Yaman threw the phone of a male fan who breached the security cordon to take a photo with him.
The charismatic Turkish actor clarified that he didn’t consider the man in question a true fan, emphasizing that he let the phone fall to the ground. As the criticisms continued, Can Yaman took to writing another message.

In response to the outcry over not posting messages in Turkish, Can Yaman posted the following message beneath a heartfelt video embracing his fans in Palermo, Sicily, where he is currently filming the second season of the series “Viola Come il Mare”:
“This is the genuine connection I share with my fans here in Palermo, where I am shooting the second season of ‘Viola Come il Mare,’ in which I play the lead role… The outpouring of love and exhaustion after a day of shooting… It has been this way for years, not a single day has changed this reality… There’s a clear distinction between intrusive individuals and my true fans… I hope you recognize this difference. I’m uncomfortable with the automatic assumption that anyone with a phone in hand is automatically labeled a ‘fan’ by the newspapers. Where there is such love and interest, the presence of stalkers, harassers, and opportunists is inevitable. You cannot be so naive as to not see, know, or understand this; otherwise, it implies ill intentions.”

“In my previous post, where I said ‘focus on your work,’ there were those who retorted with ‘you should focus on your acting.’ Let me make it clear, I am already deeply invested in my work. I am taking on leading roles in a foreign country, filming in a language foreign to me. I am taking risks. I cannot adequately describe the difficulty. I am constantly under pressure, but I rise to the occasion. This success is worthy of headlines, not tabloids.
Despite having a limited number of episodes, ‘Viola Come il Mare’ has already been sold to nearly 30 countries. With the second season, even greater international success is anticipated. This is just one of the projects I have undertaken, and I’ll tell you about the others when the time is right…
If you’re not in a position to offer constructive advice or critique, it’s because I’m trying things that haven’t been attempted before. I didn’t come here to eat pizza and play tourist; I’m here to focus on my work. I’ve long given up on expecting applause, but if you let me work in peace, I’ll do an even better job. Here’s one more Turkish post for you, I’m having a good day today…”
