The Disney Turkish drama series Dünyayla Benim Aramda / Between the World and Me (2022) tells the story of İlkin (Demet Özdemir) and Tolga (Buğra Gülsoy), who fell madly in love after crossing paths at an awards ceremony. After four years, their passion transformed into a monotonic love.
İlkin (Demet Özdemir) is the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine. She comes from a wealthy family, an authoritarian and “strong female” character who is fragile enough to lose her cognitive features when her relationship is in danger. İlkin is the masculine approach of the show business, strong enough to rule but desperate to keep her man in her orbit.
On the other hand, Tolga (Buğra Gülsoy) the male protagonist of the series Dünyayla Benim Aramda (2022), is a famous actor depicted in intensive labor and a turbulent world. He can’t find himself in the roles he portrays. Fond of his comfort, Tolga is stuck in a TV drama for four seasons, which is sarcastic.
