What is the story of The Goblin Kdrama?

Goblin (야츼한교찬란하神-도깨비), also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, tells the story of a mysterious and sorrowful Goblin and an Angel of Death. These two supernatural beings met somewhere, between fate and a curse, living on the border between life and death.

Presented in antithesis:
The Goblin being the one who protects people and the Angel of Death being the one who collects people’s souls. Their cohabitation story, is a bit bizarre as they both lead souls to immortal life.

The Cast and characters of Goblin Kdrama:

Gong Yoo portrays the main character Kim Shin, a 939-year-old Goblin who tries to end his cursed immortal life. To do so, he needs a mortal human bride (Kim Go Eun) to fall in love with him. As soon as the curse is removed, the Goblin turns to dust. What will be the fate of the goblin in the end? Will Dokkaebi succeed in carrying out his plan?

Lee Dong Wook plays Wang Yeo a.k.a Grim Reaper or the Angel of Death, who is the messenger of the Underworld. Wang Yeo died abandoned by the king he served. Now it seems that he was “cursed” with amnesia and thus became a messenger of the beyond world. He doesn’t remember anything about the life he led until becoming the Angel of Death. Wang Yeo only remembers the responsibility he has in the present, which is to collect souls.

Kim Go Eun plays Ji Eun Tak, an optimistic student with a tragic and difficult life, who will end up falling in love with the goblin.

There is also Yoo In Na portraying Kim Sun, the owner of a chicken restaurant. She is an attractive and bright girl. Men fall in love quickly with her.
