The Turkish romantic drama series Kara Para Aşk (Black Money Love) depicts the gripping and beautiful love story between two strangers, Ömer and Elif, forced to share the same father after losing their loved ones on the same night. Their destinies intersect because of a mysterious crime they try to solve, the murder of Ömer’s fiancee and Elif’s father while together in the same car. Ömer Demir (Engin Akyürek) is a dedicated commissioner working in the branch of organized crime who chose this profession after his father was killed. Ömer lives a simple life with his small family, preparing to get married with his fiancé Sibel Andaç, who is a teacher. He has an older brother, Hüseyin Demir (Burak Tamdoğan), who works alongside Ömer’s two closest friends, Arda Çakir (Ahmet Tansu Taşanlar) and Pelin Serter (İlkin Tüfekçi). On the other side, Elif Denizer (Tuba Büyüküstün), who comes from a wealthy family, is a jewelry designer who owns her own business in Italy, where she also lives. Elif is the daughter of a successful businessman Ahmed Denizer (Aytac Arman), who owns “Denizer Holdings” and his wife, Zerrin Denizer (Nebahat Cehre). She has an older sister called Aslı (Bestemsu Ozdemir) and a younger sister Nilüfer (Hazal Turesan). Fate is unpredictable, making Elif and Ömer meet at the right time and moment in Istanbul, where they arrive with different goals but will end up fighting for a common goal. Elif returns to Istanbul to celebrate her 31st birthday with her family. Arrived, her family gave her a surprise party, from which her father left early, claiming he had an important business to attend. Her birthday will turn out into a nightmare. Ömer drives his fiance Sibel home after a movie date and from there to the police station. Shortly after, someone reported to police two victims shot in the head in the car sitting on top of a hill. The victims are a woman in her 30s and a man in his 50s. Arrived at the crime scene, Ömer, as one of the delegated police officers for the case, realized that the woman passager Sibel. The older man’s identity is Ahmed Denizer Elif’s father. Arrived at the police station to give her a statement about the murder, a quarrel breaks between Elif and Ömer, as she claims that his fiance Sibel was probably after her father’s money. Elif and Ömer have questions they can’t answer, what type of relationship had Ahmed and Sibel and why they died. After a tense and prejudiced acquaintance, every clue they pursue crosses their paths.

Trying to clear the slanders and being certain that Sibel did not have a romantic relationship with Ahmed, Ömer continues investigating the case. Ömer finds diamonds in Sibel’s room and the car where the crime happened. Meanwhile, the mafia kidnaps Elif and Nilüfer. Anyway, they released Elif, with the main purpose the find the diamonds her father stole and returning them. Scared and threatened not to tell anyone, Elif runs into Ömer, who immediately realizes something is wrong with her. A second later, Elif received a call from the mafia members, questioning who is the person she talks. Elif lies, saying that Ömer is her boyfriend, but they don’t believe it. To prove this, Elif grabs Ömer and kisses him, confirming that something is wrong with her. In the end, Elif confesses everything to Ömer and has no choice but to act together to save Nilüfer and to reveal the truth behind the mysterious crime and his connection with the diamonds.
