On 11 March, Kerem Bursin insulted while attending the award ceremony held by the Yıldız Technical University, where he won the trophy for The most Admired Male Actor of 2020. The leading male actor from the Turkish romantic comedy series Sen Çal Kapimi said in his award acceptance speech:“Thank you for seeing me worthy of this award. It’s a honor for me. It was a difficult year for all of us. So there is not much to say. I hope better years await us. I hope that the state of the world will changes and better days await us. ”

Kerem Bursin insulted after being awarded
It was supposed to be a happy moment, but after he made his speech and left the stage, Kerem Bursin was insulted by the host of the night. The singer Bay J, sarcastically said:
“As Kerem Bursin said, it was not an easy year for anyone. It was not an easy year for artists, especially for them. Moreover, Kerem is working under difficult conditions. Your eyes will be filled with tears, but last year he continued to work with 120 thousand TL per episode”

A day after, on 12 March, Sen Cal Kapimi’s actors Hande Ercel and Kerem Bursin were caught by the journalists outside of MFYapim’s offices.
Kerem Bürsin, who did take his dog, Hector, out of his lap for a moment, gave his first comment on the incident.
It was short classy for a gentleman: “There is no need to spare time for such a thing and even talk.”

When asked about the topic, Hande Erçel defended her partner in crime: “I know Kerem’s heart it was a very unnecessary exit.”

The apologies of Mr. Bay J after receiving negative reactions on social media
Following the adverse reactions, Mr. J apologized on his social media account with a video, but deleted his statement a few hours later. I know magazines guys, this is your job, but I wish you had published the beginning of my speech and everybody really heard me say that actors are working under difficult conditions. I was talking about the difficult conditions of serious artists.

It was just a sarcastic joke at the end. It’s not that I have an eye on anyone’s money or anything, but my joke it may have exceeded its purpose. So I apologize to the people whose heart I broke. I love Kerem Bürsin. I would not do anything to break the heart of any artist friend. Dear Kerem; I know very well how difficult conditions you are working under.
