Have you ever wondered which are the most-watched Turkish movies on Netflix?

Because, I did it last night. I got really curious!  So, which are the most-watched Turkish movies on Netflix? I already had two candidates’ names in my mind. I was pretty sure both are on the list, because of the global waves of emotion they created. Even though it’s the biggest online streaming platform, Netflix does not have a complex library with Turkish Movies. However, it does have a few good production names that save the day for Netflix movies

The Turkish movie Babamin Kemani / My Father’s Violin (2022) tells the story of an 8-year-old girl, Özlem (Gülizar Nisa Uray), who loses her dad, and ends up with his grumpy uncle, Mehmet, who is a famous violinist.

She earns a living with her father Ali Riza (Selim Erdogan) and a bunch of instrumentalists playing on the streets or parties. Although the girl has no education, a prosperous life, or maternal warmth, the sweet redhead is happy when she plays the violin. Özlem’s life takes a dramatic turn when her father dies, and she ends up in the State Care Center. However, the little protagonist discovers that she is not alone in the world. She has a relative, the father’s brother, Uncle Mehmet (played by Engin Altan Düzyatan), a successful violinist. Mehmet is an arrogant, egocentric artist who has an unhappy marriage to Suna (Belçim Bilgin). Suna is a talented woman who has always lived in his shadow. Uncle Mehmet hardly accepts the authorities’ proposal to take care of his niece for a month. Özlem will change his uncle’s way of living and thinking completely. Mehmet will learn from her niece how to overcome his childhood drama.
