The new Turkish crime drama series Sıfırıncı Gün / Day Zero (2022) follows the story of a special 7-member police squad and the Commander-in-Chief, Kadir, whom all see as a father. The police team has become a real family after spending years together pursuing a notorious criminal, Ejder. After an extensive investigation period, the team found the trail of Edjer and planned to get rid of him with operation called Sıfırıncı Gün. The team is unaware that everything will drastically change the day they plan to carry out their operation. The operation they dreamed of until the Day-Zero does not go as planned. The price they will pay will be a bitter one. Two members of the police squad are martyred in the Sıfırıncı Gün operation.

Özgür (Engin Öztürk) and Mert (Berk Cankat), the team’s favorite members, take responsibility for the failure of the Day-Zero operation. While the duo got suspended from duty, their leader, Kadir, retires. However, they never stop investigating the events on Day Zero and soon discover that everything that happened was a plot. Engin Öztürk plays Özgür, a reliable cop and a born leader. He is calm and able to find solutions in the most unbelievable situations. Aybüke Pusat portrays Nisan, a police officer working in the Cybercrime department who has completed computer engineering. Kadir’s spiritual daughter. Yigit Özsener plays Edjer, a notorious businessman with a mysterious past. An ex-cop who thinks is easy to be good but hard to be fair.
