The upcoming Netflix K-drama Somebody (2022) follows Kim Sum, a young woman with communication difficulties who developed an online social connection app called Somebody. Despite her social inabilities, Sum has two friends, Mok-Won and Ki-Eun, who is a detective. Sum is hunted by the CEO of a big tech company called Spectrum for inventing her AI-powered chatbot. When a murderer is linked to the app, Sum and her friends identify several accounts connected to the same user, who attracts his lonely matches by using the same tactics to all of them. Kim Sum, herself a lonely girl, tracks the activity of designer Sung Yun-oh and decides to meet him. Yun-oh doesn’t like those “people who act like they are sophisticated when, in fact, they are worthless.” His hobby of wanting “to go around killing everyone” doesn’t ease up on anyone except Kim Sum.
