Jung Ho Yeon ranks as the first Korean actress nominated for an Emmy Award alongside conational Sandra Oh!
Thanks to her stunning role in the Korean TV drama series “Squid Game,” Jung Ho Yeon earned a well-earned nomination at the Emmy Awards 2023!
The young actress Jung Ho Yeon ranked in the Emmy nominations for “Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” at the 74th edition of the Emmy Awards. In this Emmy category, Jung Ho Yeon remains in history as the first Korean nominated for a debut role.
She is also the 4th Asian nominated for an Emmy after Tina Chen was honored first, Sandra Oh (Canadian-American) would be the 2nd, and Archie Panjabi falls on 3rd.

On July 12, Jung Ho Yeon’s agency, Saram Entertainment, released a statement regarding their actress:
“Our artist, Jung Ho Yeon, received an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Thanks to her Role in the original Netflix series “Squid Game.” This is her first acting role. Making it is more significant to reach the first Korean nominee in this category.”
Following the winner announcement, the famous Sandra Oh posted a cover from Variety magazine with the young nominee next to her, captioned:
“Congratulations Jung Ho Yeon on your Emmy nomination! Now I get to see you again. How fortuitous was our Variety cover?”
The same Sandra Oh was honored with a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her stunning role in “Killing Eve.”
