Grammy-winning singer, The Weeknd, is making his way into Hollywood with his feature film debut alongside Jenna Ortega. The Canadian musician, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has signed on to star in and produce an untitled film, which he will also write and direct.

Alongside The Weeknd will be the rising star, Jenna Ortega, known for her roles in “You” and “Wednesday,” and Barry Keoghan, who recently appeared in “The Green Knight” and “Dunkirk.”
The Weeknd has been working on the project with his producing partner, Reza Fahim, while Kevin Turen, who previously produced “Euphoria,” and Harrison Kreiss, an executive producer for “The United States vs. Billie Holiday,” are also on board.
The crew features some big names in the industry, including Chayse Irvin, who worked on “Joker” and “BlacKkKlansman,” as the director of photography; Trey Edward Shults as a writer and director, and composer and producer Daniel Lopatin, better known as OPN, who has previously worked on the scores for “Good Time” and “Uncut Gems.”
