The Turkish dizi series Üç Kiz Kardes / Three Sisters (2022) follows the story of three sisters born on the streets of Ayvalık who are madly devoted to each other, Türkan, Dönen, and Derya, one legendary for her beauty, one for her gentleness and the other for her rebelliousness. While dreaming about their wonderful years ahead, dark clouds will hover over the family with Türkan’s marriage, and nothing will ever be the same as before. Their childhood looks like a fairy tale, living together with Mr. Sadık and Ms. Nesrin in a house overlooking the Aegean Sea. The three sisters are not ready for the cruelty of this world. Sadık Bey and Nesrin Hanım are living in Eskişehir, but soon when they will move to Ayvalık and learn that their daughters are on the edge of the cliffs. Türkan (Özgü Kaya) is the sister legendary for her beauty, who is a Rapunzel locked in a fairy tale castle.
Her life might seem perfect from the outside, but the tear she shed behind the closed door say the contrary. Türkan, who believes her only virtue is her beauty, is the first child, her mother’s delicate and fragile daughter raised as he needed protection. Because of her mother’s influence, Türkan didn’t have the right to choose anything in her life nor her husband or the hellish life after marriage, but for how long will she accept her fate as Rapunzel trapped in the fancy tower?Dönüs (Almida Ada) is the middle sister of the family, who resembles her father, Sadık Bey.
She wanted to study literature, but her illness and family’s financial difficulties didn’t allow her.
