The new Turkish drama series Yandaki Oda (2024), inspired by a real drama story by Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu, follows the life of Sevgi Ersoy (Şevval Sam), whose career declined while she was a famous program presenter, suddenly marries Fikret Alabey (Caner Cindoruk), one of the country’s leading businessmen.
This unexpected marriage creates a shock effect on everyone. Sevgi and Fikret have both had unhappy marriages before. It will not be easy for the couple, who now want to live their second spring, to achieve their dreams. When two of them get married, their very different families come together.
The fact that these two opposed families start living under the same roof will create problems that Sevgi and Fikret expected and change the lives of all family members, especially their mother, who reacts badly to this marriage. And their children, Taylan (Onur Seyit Yaran) and Şelale (Derya Pınar Ak), who had to live in each other’s next rooms.
