Atiye / The Gift is Turkey’s second original Netflix series after The Protector (2018). Atiye / The Gift revolves around the mystical story of a painter, Atiye Özgürsoy (Beren Saat), and the archeological discovery of an ancient sanctuary of 12 thousand years in Göbekli Tepe, Turkey. The protagonist opens her first painting exhibition, and all her works sell like hotcakes. Atiye exclusively draws a symbol of fertility (two circles joined by a rhombus) which has obsessed her since childhood, in various shapes, colors, and techniques. On the day of Atiye’s exhibition at the archeological site in Göbekli Tepe, the archaeologist Erhan (Mehmet Günsür) discovers a strange artifact buried for millennia. The same symbol to which Atiye is obsessively attached. Atiye embarks on a personal journey to discover the universal secrets of the Anatolian archeological site and its link to her past. Netflix’s dizi series Atiye / The Gift revolves around the mystical story of a painter, Atiye Özgürsoy, and the archeological discovery of an ancient sanctuary of 12 thousand years in Göbekli Tepe, Turkey. Our protagonist is a young painter and part-time teacher, Atiye Özgürsoy (Beren Saat), who obsessively draws a symbol of fertility without knowing its meaning, two circles joined by a rhombus. She has never seen this symbol anywhere in her life. Atiye has a relationship with Ozan (Metin Akdülger), the son of a powerful businessman in Istanbul, whom she plans to marry. Atiye comes from a wealthy family and has an adopted sister Cansu (Melisa Şenolsun), who is her total opposite, rebellious, likes to party, and lives disorderly. Atiye opens her first exhibitions, featuring the same symbol she has been drawing since childhood, in various shapes, colors, sizes, and techniques. Her exhibition was a success, and all her paintings sold like hotcakes. On the morning of her exhibition, the archaeologist Erhan (Mehmet Günsür) excavates the site in Gobeklitepe, southeastern Anatolia, and discovers a Neolithic sanctuary featuring an artifact that is the same symbol as Atiye obsessively draws. Atiye starts investigating the connection between the artifact from the Göbekli Tepe and her past, despite her mother’s objection. On the other hand, the dark forces want to prevent Atiye from achieving her destiny. The second season of Atiye / The Gift starts with the fact that in this alternative reality, things have drastically changed. Her parents are not the same, neither her sister is not her sister, and nobody remembers her. The worst is that in this alternative reality, women can not give birth and die during pregnancy. But, Atiye is pregnant with Erhan’s baby in this world. Remember the symbol of fertility that Atiye draws. When she passed through that cave into an alternative reality she might have brought the calamity into their world. To solve this dark reality, she returns to the Göbekli Tepe cave to open a new alternate reality. By the end, Atiye’s baby gets stolen, and the thief is the biggest surprise. In the third season of Atiye / The Gift, Erhan and Atiye are restlessly looking for their daughter, who got stolen right after birth. When they find her, Atiye becomes a role model by forgiving her girl’s kidnapper.
