Turkey’s first Netflix original series, The Protector / Hakan: Muhafız, follows the endless adventures of Hakan Demir (Çağatay Ulusoy), an ordinary teenager working in a small antique shop of his adoptive father, Neşet, dreaming of a successful future. After Neşet’s murder, Hakan discovers he is the last member of an ancient order whose duty is to protect the city of Istanbul against the Immortals. Even though he is untrained and unaware of his power, Hakan is forced to embrace his bloodline’s legacy passed through centuries as The Protector of Istanbul and kill the Immortals to prevent the city’s destruction. His father died because strange people were searching for a mysterious Ottoman shirt.
