 1. Aşk-ı Memnu / Forbidden Love (2008)

Genre: Drama,
Seasons 2 |  Episodes 79

Aşk-ı Memnu (2008), starring Beren Saat, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, and Hazal Kaya, based on Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s 1899 novel, is one of the top three highest-rated Turkish television series of all time. This popularity lies in the intense forbidden love affair between a married woman, Bihter, and her husband’s nephew, Behlül, which kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

Behlul is initially hesitant to pursue a relationship with Bihter but eventually falls head over heels in love with her. From time to time, we felt sorry for Behlül and Bihter, cheering for their love and wishing they had met before or at least had an alternate outcome.

The final episode of Aşk-ı Memnu is regarded as one of the greatest examples of forbidden love in Turkish television, generated widespread discussions, and is one of the most heartbreaking moments of the drama series. I watched it 3 times, and I will never get enough of the chemistry between Beren Saat and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ! Oldie but goldie!
