Kulüp / The Club – WHAT’S THE STORY? (Synopsis)
Netflix dizi series Kulüp / The Club (2021), which takes the audience back to 1955, to the Cosmopolitan Istanbul around Beyoğlu, focuses on the life story of Sephardi Jew Matilda Aseo (Gökçe Bahadır), who was released from prison after 17 years with a general amnesty. Matilda has a daughter, Raşel, whom she couldn’t raise because of her troubled past and who doesn’t know of her existence until the day of her release. Raşel Aseo (Asude Kalebek), who grew up in an orphanage, has another picture painted of her family. When mother and daughter come to face, the reconnection will be difficult. Matilda starts wondering about her father. At the beginning of each episode of the Kulüp dizi series, Matilda’s story is exposed with portions from 17 years before the narrative time. After Raşel learns the truth about her family from her mother, their bond strengthens.
